Here of course is the game cabinet. In this picture, I have removed the marquee, but have not yet removed the cardboard bits under the front glass of the screen. It's even uglier without that part. I am thinking of removing the light bulbs and installing a fluorescent fixture in its place. The bulbs are only 50W but there's two, and they'll get hot. I don't want anything valuable or flammable in that space!

Here is the game from the right side. As you can see, it's painted black but not very well. I suppose with some stripper I could get at the original sideart, but why bother? It's not like it was a Reactor cabinet or anything, right?

Here's the inside of the cabinet. Pretty roomy, eh? Just the standard Bally power transformer, a switching power supply, and the boardset on the left. JAMMA is interesting, kind of like "one size fits all". You can plug just about any game after 1986 into it. Some games that use sophisticated steering controls or have more than 3 buttons per player use a different setup called JAMMA+, so it's not completely universal, but it's better than trying to get a Defender to run in say a Galaga cabinet.

Here is a better look at the board and the JAMMA harness. I haven't seen many JAMMA harnesses, so I don't know if this is typical of the breed or not. The wiring looks to have been done using typical home interior telephone wire, but without the outer insulation keeping the bundle together and protected. I shudder to think of what would happen if I ever had to re-wire this beastie. The boards I have are all of a size, so they fit just fine into the slot created for the Twin Eagle JAMMA board that resided here at time of purchase.

Here is the obligatory monitor shot. Not sure offhand what type this is, I would imagine it's a Wells Gardner similar to the one in my Galaga mini. I need to take a closer look at this, it almost appears as though I could rotate the monitor in this frame or the frame could be placed in either horizontal or vertical mounts.
